Q & A:

Q: Noora Jamal, Istanbul

Dear sisters and brothers,

I am a 31 year old pilot and I frequently visit the grave of Mevlana Rumi in Konya and enjoy the antics of the ‘whirling dervishes’.

At his mausoleum and outside there are strange screams in chorus, Arabic, Turkish, Persian and Italian. Much of that I do not understand but I ask the keepers and get answers, although quite weird.

Q-1 There is one chorus that no one seems to answer, “Muast Alast, Shuroob Alast, Hah, Muast Muast Alast, Hah Hah”. They tell me to be quiet since it is from the Quraan. They claim it is a gateway to paradise. Are they right? It is difficult to believe.

Q-2 Many people here know Dr. Shabbir Ahmed as a Rumi antagonist. Others say that he is a loyal disciple of Mevlana Rumi through Sir Muhammad Iqbal.

Please guide me on the above.

Thankfully,
Noora

In Response To: “Must Alast” (Noora Jamal, Istanbul)

Dear Sister Noora,

First of all, I am not a fan of Rumi at all. His poetry is loaded with SHIRK, psychological complexes against the exalted Prophet and hatred of his noble companions.

CHOON SAHABA HUBBE DUNIYA DASHTAND
MUSTAFA RA BAY KAFAN BAGUZASHTAND
[Since the companions were drenched in the love of this world, they left alone the body of the Prophet (S) even without a coffin of cloth]

In my view, Rumi was a Criminal of Islam. Allama Iqbal only speed-read some parts of Rumi and failed to notice what his PIR (guide) had said.

“MUST ALAST” (duped in ALASTU) is a form of meaningless Sufi chanting. They vicariously derive it from the Qur’an.

ALASTU = Am I not?

ALASTU BIRABBIKUM? = Am I not your Sustainer?

7:172 When your Lord brought forth generations in succession from the Children of Adam, and made them bear witness, “Am I not your Sustainer?” They said, “Yes, we bear witness.” Thus you cannot say on the Resurrection Day, “We were not aware of this.”

[Min Zuhoorihim = From their posterity = In succession = Their seed = One generation following another. The Q & A here is an allegory. The uninterrupted survival of mankind is a telling witness that there is an Almighty Sustainer of them all]

I hope you get your answers from a lifelong student.

FROM: A History Of The Prophets

AN IMPORTANT OBSERVATION: Reading through the entire Qur’an, we find that no nation ever suffered harm, destruction or annihilation for a deficiency of rituals. Invariably, the reason of decline and fall of nations has been moral vices, particularly VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS.

While much has been written on the history of philosophy, little has been said or written on the converse, that is, the Philosophy of History. The Qur’an narrates the philosophy of history in the sense of giving us the ‘WHY’ of historical events.

During the last millennium, many scholars have authored the “Stories of the Prophets” under various captions but, unfortunately, they are more fiction than fact. I am not aware of any such history primarily based on the Authentic Qur’an.

The most popular of these conjecture-based books is “Qasas-ul-Anbia” (Stories of the Prophets) authored by Imam Imaduddin Abul-Fida Hafiz Ismail Ibn Kathir (d.1372 CE) in Arabic. It was translated into Urdu by Mr. Abdul Aziz in the 19th century. “Maulana” Makki Al Hijazi plagiarized some of the work with impunity in the 20th century in Urdu audio format. All these works are huge volumes comprising of fanciful ideas, very questionable Ahadith, irrationalities, outright forgery and comical imagination. The authors seldom quote their sources of information. These works have almost nothing to do with the Authoritative, Authentic Qur’an. I read some of these books in my teens and again many years later. They are only a few of the numerous books that thankfully kept me away from the fictitious Number Two Islam :-)

The Qur’an makes things simple for us. It highlights certain evils that were most prevalent in a given society and tells us about the prophet assigned to them and his noble efforts to make reforms.
Being a most pragmatic Book on earth, the Qur’an puts forth before us three very scientific methods to evaluate the truth versus conjecture, even to evaluate the authenticity of the Book itself:

1- Use of Intellect and Reason.
2- Results achieved by various Systems in human societies.
3- A diligent research on the History of Nations to determine the reasons behind their Rise & Fall, and the gallant role of the prophets who strove to induce reform in their respective societies. Prophet Muhammad, being the final link in this noble chain, was sent to all mankind for all times to come.

“A HISTORY OF THE PROPHETS” is almost entirely based on the Qur’an although the author will not hesitate to benefit, sparingly, from other trust-worthy sources.

A resume of the history of nations given in the Qur’an and frequently confirmed by Biblical and secular sources is now presented. North or South, East or West, nations flourished as long as, consciously or unconsciously, they followed the moral and socio-economic directives given in the Qur’an. Conversely, they faced decline and annihilation when they abandoned these teachings.

Many readers have been asking for stories of the prophets. I have just started working on “A HISTORY OF THE PROPHETS” today. Their stories serve as a Beacon to show us how nations rose to glory and then went into decline - And what the great prophets did to reform their societies. This book will educate us how the masses and the leaders must behave in order to build and sustain a great nation. Any nation could draw inspiration from what is coming forth in the following pages.

The Qur’an gives us the stories of the following prophets and their respective nations. Their names are written here in Alphabetic order:

OUR SALUTES TO THEM ALL!
Aaron - Haroon
Abraham - Ibrahim
David - Daud
Hud
Elias - Elijah
Elisha - Al-Yasa’
Enoch - Idris
Ezekiel - Zal-Kifl
Jacob - Ya’qoob
Jethro - Sho’aib
Jesus - ‘Isa
Idris (Enoch)
Ishmael - Ismail
Isaac - Ishaq
Job - Ayub
Joseph - Yusuf
John the Baptist - Yahya
Moses - Musa
Muhammad
Noah - Nooh
Saleh
Solomon - Sulaiman
Jonah - Yunus
Lut - Lot
Zacharias - Zakariya

Their number is 25.

Prophets Hud, Saleh and Muhammad are not named in the current Bible. Prophet Zechariah of the Old Testament belonged to previous generations, and he was, thus, a different person from Prophet Zakariya of the Qur’an and Zacharias of the New Testament. He was the father of John the Baptist (Yahya). Eighteen prophets are named in succession in the Qur’an from 6:84 onward.
Most of the tribal prophets named in the Bible are not mentioned in the Qur’an.

ADAM: Contrary to popular belief, Adam (Adami) was not a prophet. Adam indicates the early humans. The Qur’an nowhere states that Adam was a prophet of God. Let us not be confused by God’s conversation to him and his wife. The name Eve or Hawwa is not found in the Qur’an, once again to confirm that ‘Adam and his wife’ alludes to early human beings. Adam’s story has been presented entirely in allegorical terms for our easy understanding (2:30 on, 17:61 on, 20:115 on). We see the scenario of God’s Court with Adam, Iblis and angels, all being present and interesting dialogues going on. The Qur’an talks of ‘wahi’ to people, e.g. to disciples of Jesus (5:111), Zakariya’s people (19:11), to the mother of Moses (20:38, 28:7), to the sky and cosmic bodies (41:12), to earth (99:5) and even to the honeybee (41:12). The ‘wahi’ in these cases indicates inspiring, programming or directing. All of these instances exclude Angel Gabriel revealing God’s messages verbatim on the heart of a messenger.

PROPHET NOAH:

Look at 6:84. The first ever prophet was Hazrat Noah. So, we begin with his story and the story of his nation. His people existed around 10,000 B.C. in the Valleys of Euphrates and Tigris.

CLASS SYSTEM:
The Qur’an makes it obvious that Noah’s people had divided their society into classes based on wealth. The rich elite used to consider and treat the poor with contempt, oppressed them and felt insulted even at sitting with them.

26:108 (Noah said) Be mindful of God and pay heed to me.
26:109 And no reward, whatsoever, do I ask for it. My reward rests with none but the Lord of the Worlds.
26:110 So be mindful of God and pay heed to me.”
26:111 They answered, “Shall we put our faith in you even though the low class people are following you?”
26:112 He said, “I am not concerned with their professions and what they have been doing before.
26:113 Their accountability is up to my Lord. If only you understood (that the most honored in the Sight of God is the one who is best in conduct 49:13).
26:114 So, I shall not drive away the believers.

THE FAREWELL ADDRESS (THE LAST SERMON)

In the year 632 CE (tenth year of Hijrah), the exalted Prophet came back to Makkah for the Final Pilgrimage. People had kept joinining the Noble Caravan on its way to Makkah and there was a congregation of 140,000 people whom the Prophet (S) addressed from a mountaintop:

“O mankind! I believe we will not meet in this Congregation again.

Remember, your blood (life), your property and your honor is sacred unto each other. Very soon you will have to explain your actions before Allah.

O People! Your Sustainer Lord is One and your ancestry is common. No black is superior to a white, and no white is superior to a black, and no Arab is better than a non-Arab and no non-Arab is better than an Arab. Honor is the birthright of every human being. The only criterion of superiority amongst you is nothing but good conduct.

Treat those under your care equitably. Be kind to your servants. Feed them what you eat and clothe them as you clothe.

This day, the ways of the Jahiliyyah (the Age of Ignorance) are trampled under my feet. All bloodshed of the Jahiliyyah is declared null and void. This day, I revoke all previous warfare, contention, bloodshed, and chain revenge. I am the first one to forgive the murder committed against my family, that of Rabee’ah bin Harith.

All usury (interest on money) of Jahiliyyah is null and void from this day on. First of all, I revoke the interest owed to my family on behalf of my uncle Abbas bin Muttalib.

O Men! Be fearful of Allah in all matters concerning women. They have rights upon you as you have rights upon them. Treat them well and be kind to them. Remember, they are your companions, colleagues, and partners in life.

Just as you honor this month, this day and this place, likewise your blood and property is inviolable unto one another. All believers are brothers and sisters unto another. Nothing from a believer is permissible unto another unless it is given with cheerful consent.

Remember that everyone is a shepherd. You will be questioned about those under your care. If a non-Muslim were wronged in our State, I would personally plead on his or her behalf. Avoid extremes in religion. Peace, O Mankind! Peace.

O People! I am leaving behind one thing among you. If you hold it fast, you will never go astray. What is that thing? - The Book of Allah.

Even if an Ethiopian slave is chosen among you as Ameer (Ruler) and he takes you along the Book of Allah, obey him and follow him. Serve your Sustainer Lord by serving His creation and you will enter Paradise.

O People! Sincerity in action, working for the betterment of fellow humans, and unity among the Ummah are three things that keep the hearts refreshed and clean.

O Mankind! No prophet will come after me. And there is no Ummah (an Ideology-based Community) after you.

It is incumbent upon you to convey this Message of mine unto those who are not present here. Allah will ask you about me on the Day of Resurrection. Tell me, what you will say. The noble companions and the congregation repeating after a Sahabi’s voice proclaimed, “We witness that you have conveyed the Message of Allah and fulfilled your Trust.”

On hearing this, the Prophet (S) raised his hands and said, “O Allah! Be witness. O Allah! Be witness. O Allah! Be witness.”

At this point, Allah revealed again part of a verse to the exalted Prophet, 5:3 —– This Day I have perfected your DEEN for you, completed My favor upon you, and chosen for you Al-Islam as the System of Life. —-.

ME’RAAJ  (ASCENSION)

Allah Is Not Confined To the Heavens.

The word Me’raaj is not found in the Qur’an.

Remind yourself of the famous weird tale of the Prophet (S) ascending to heavens to meet with Allah, the so-called Me’raaj (the word is non-existent in the Qur’an). Is not Allah Omnipresent? The “Imams” of Hadith want us to believe that Allah ordained 50 ritual prayers daily for Muslims on that occasion. As the exalted Prophet was descending, Prophet Moses told him of the impossibility of the situation and sent Muhammad (S) back again and again. Imagine the Prophet (S) bargaining with God! Repeated visits to and fro then bring the number down to 40, 30, 20, 10, and finally 5! Moses a. s. wanted him to make one more trip but Muhammad (S) felt shy to bargain any further. Was this Hadith, in addition to promoting ritualism, fabricated by some Jewish mind to prove Moses’ farsightedness over Muhammad (S)?

Surah 17. Al-Asra – The Night Journey

[Author’s Note] This is the 17th Surah of the Qur’an. Some historians refer to it as Surah Bani Israel. It has 111 verses. Asra (Night Journey) is often confused with Me’raaj (Ascension). Since God is Omnipresent, the notion of anyone going to meet with Him over the skies does not stand up to reason. Asra signifies night journey and it refers to the beginning of the exalted Messenger’s emigration from Makkah to Madinah by night. Verses 20:77 and 26:52 use the same term for migration of Prophet Moses along with his followers across the sea. Also consider 17:2. Masjid Al-Aqsa means, the Remote Mosque and refers to the â€Remote Mosque’ in Madinah, the place where Muslims used to establish congregational prayers before the Prophet’s arrival to the city. Masjid may also be understood here as Madinah being the place of regular congregations. The famous Masjid Al-Aqsa, the so-called Qiblah Awwal, the supposed First Holy Sanctuary, is widely known as Haram Shareef) in Jerusalem. But, in fact, it was built in 72 AH (691 CE) by the Umayyad Ruler, Abdul Malik bin Marwan, about 60 years after the exalted Messenger passed on. The First Sanctuary was nothing but Ka’bah in Makkah (3:96). Jerusalem, until the Muslim conquest under the second Caliph of Islam in 637 CE, had been under the control of Byzantine Christians for centuries, and there was no person worshiping in a Masjid anywhere in the world but Madinah. So, the question of the presence of a Masjid in Jerusalem during the lifetime of the exalted Prophet should not arise. Again, Muslims conquered Jerusalem in 637 CE during the Rule of the second Caliph of Islam, Hazrat Umar. When he visited the place, he continued to pray in open grounds, although Pope Severinus gave him the key to the city and invited him to pray in the Church of Holy Sepulture. But Hazrat Umar feared that Muslims might start converting churches into Masjids, so he politely declined. If a Masjid were present, he would have prayed there. The word Me’raaj (physical Ascension) nowhere occurs in the Qur’an. Yet, under erroneous traditions, it is a popular, though non-Qur’anic, belief among many Muslims that the exalted Messenger was taken up physically to the Heights/Skies to meet with God! The Qur’an sets the records straight by asserting that the First ever blessed Sanctuary was the Ka’bah built by Prophets Abraham and Ishmael in Makkah (3:96). And that the Divine laws are unchangeable under all circumstances. Bodily Ascension is a Biblical and not a Qur’anic theme at all.

With the Glorious Name of God, the Instant and Sustaining Source of all Mercy and Kindness

17:1 Glorious is He Who initiated the migration of His servant by night, from the Sacred Masjid to the Remote Masjid whose environment We did bless that We may show him some of Our signs. He is the Hearer, the Seer. [20:23. Signs that the Divine System will begin to prevail from there]

17:2 (Recall that Moses had to migrate from Pharaoh’s Kingdom to the Sinai Peninsula.) We gave Moses the scripture and We appointed it a Guide to the Children of Israel, saying, “Choose no guardian besides Me.”

The exalted Messenger never ascended to the heavens. Allah is everywhere. Our brilliant Muhaddithin and historians bring a lot of irrational and contradictory material on this subject:

01. Me’raaj happened in Madinah.
02. No sorry! It happened in Makkah.
03. It happened just before Hijrah.
04. Sorry! It happened 9 years before Hijrah.
05. The Prophet was sleeping at Umm Hani’s house. Gabriel held his hand and took him to Allah up there in the heavens.
06. Oh’ no! (That would be a slander). He was sleeping in the Ka’bah.
07. Gabriel opened his chest and poured faith and wisdom from a platter of gold before taking him up there.
08. Sorry! That surgery was performed when he was 3 years old.
09. Gabriel took him straight to the heavens. Sorry again! The angel first took him to Jerusalem.
10. No, it was not Gabriel. Burraaq (The Santor with the head and face of a beautiful woman and the body of a horse) carried him to the heavens at lightning speed.

These are not even 1% of the insults. The real ascension of the exalted Messenger was his character, and not some kind of Greek Mythology.

Anywhere (in this small world now), if you have Internet and you want to know the Qiblah direction, please follow the following steps:

1. Go for this website: http://www.qiblalocator.com

2. This site needs an advanced copy of Window Explorer or Mozilla for browsing.
3. Choose Satellite, then you will see your actual location (same as in Google Earth).
4. Allocate your existing position or house.
5. You will find a (+) sign in the middle of the page. Put the centre of this sign above the location of your house.

CHRIST & ANTICHRIST - ENJOY THE HUMOR IF YOU CAN

 The Orientalist Dorsey Williams writes:

“The Messiah of Muslims will descend from the heavens holding on to the wings of two angels.  He will start breathing fire like a dragon. He will be attired in two pieces of yellow cloth like a sick weakling. The moment he touches the Tower of Jesus in Damascus, (in times of rockets, missiles and laser) he would hold his spear and race after the Antichrist for thirty miles to Tel Aviv. The rest of the world would be watching the drama probably on CNN. At the gate of Lydda the Antichrist will say: Brother Jesus! I am tired. I have had it. Please, for God’s sake, kill me.

Muslim, Tirmizi, Abu Daud and Ibne Majah report in this Hadith that Jesus, the son of Mary will not concern himself with following or leading prayers. While the same books and others also narrate that first of all he will follow or lead prayers. I will urge Jesus not to pull his spear and have some mercy. Let the dissolving, melting Dajjal Antichrist vanish in peace.”

Williams further comments: The Muslims keep living under the wishful thinking that the Dajjal (Antichrist) will have only 70,000 soldiers in his legion holding only swords in their hands. While Imam Mahdi will be an amused spectator, Jesus the son of Mary will step forward and solve all their problems and get rid of all non-Muslims. (The Return of Jesus ppg 271-273)

Note: Some people believe that during those times all technology might vanish, therefore an “Armageddon” of sword and spear is quite possible. But, the same traditions insist that this high drama will take place with science at its fullest glory.

[The Biblical account of Christ & Antichrist is no less funny. Please wait]
